A Friend is in need of prayers For his FATHER. I am in need of prayers for this FAMILY!

Today I came across this status update on 'Facebook':


"TO FAMILY AND FRIENDS IM ASKING PRAYERS FOR MY FATHER WHOS IN THE BAPTIST HOSPITAL WITH A DEADLY DISEASE OF LUNG CANCER AND WE ALMOST LOST HIM YESTERDAY EVENING :( BUT I KNOW GOD IS BEAUTIFUL AND MERCIFUL PRAYING FOR A MIRACLE ITS ALL I ASK FROM FAMILY AND TRULY FRIENDS GOD BLESS AMEN !!!!!!"


He then posted his Fathers name: Miguel. 
For Privacy reasons only his first name will be given.


Prayer is a powerful thing and I have seen it turn morbid situations into MIRACLES! 
Miracles in which at some point during my writing journey I will share... 
As well as feature the original persons involved as positive speakers.


But today, although we are all in our own "little worlds," I ask that you please say a prayer for this family!


This is a plea from a son! His father is battling cancer! They will all need our PRAYERS! 


As you go about your day today, APPRECIATE all that SURROUNDS you!
 Life is so PRECIOUS; yet, SO many times taken for GRANTED!


My prayers go out to this family and any that are going through trials at this time! 
To all those who have battled the ugly disease of cancer and to those we have lost to cancer!
May they ALWAYS remain ALIVE in our hearts!

This FAMILY, 
A beloved family member we lost to cancer 2years ago, MY AUNT CARMEN. Our family misses her immensely! 
She, a superb MOTHER, DAUGHTER, SISTER, WIFE, FRIEND, AUNT, GRANDMOTHER, 
DAUGHTER- IN-LAW ETC...humbly touched our lives!


Anyone who has been lost to CANCER and to a dear friends MOM who is in a recent battle with breast cancer!


This post is a little on the heavy side however, LIFE is heavy at times...
A strong SOUL can sustain the pain.

Today I Choose...

This goes along with the POSITIVE CHALLENGE from a few weeks ago.


By now, some of you may have given that challenge a try.
Ask yourself today if you have given it a REAL GOOD try?
 If you are not sure on what challenge I am discussing, please refer to the post titled:
"Words are spoken everday"
I'll provide a link on today's post so that you may have easy acess to this challenge.


If you attempt that challenge for a solid day, wholeheartedly, you will learn more about yourself and the world around you.
You May also get the urge to continue the challenge until you get it right!


Today is my 17th day at giving this challenge a try!
It has been way more difficult than I ever anticipated.
There have been days that felt as if "negativity" knew I was on a challenge and tried to devour my challenge as if it's IMPOSSIBLE to SUCCEED at it. 
I am determined to have at least ONE day or WEEK where the challenge was a COMPLETE success!


Here is one simple sentence with a blank for you to fill in.
The idea behind this sentence is to encourage YOU to keep the sentence with you all day and use it as a reminder that you are either on this POSITIVE CHALLENGE or simply trying to make today better than yesterday:)


     "Today, I choose to  ________________________________  so that I can better myself and  improve my LIFE."
 (You can fill the blank with words like stop..., never..., start..., listen...)


Good luck with your sentence. 
It is simple because, it can be that simple.

Many times people will discuss such things behind you when you are not listening.
Let them.
That is part of you letting your HUMBLE side grow.

That should be more incentive to follow through; not in PRIDE simply in following through.

Found inspiration in a movie for the second time.

Many FANS have watched this movie already.

But, I can't help but to share this post with you anyway :).

If you need INSPIRATION, motivation, and some entertainment, you might like this one.

I would like to believe that EVERYONE will be able to see that the main person of this movie was born with a gift!

The movie is titled "NEVER SAY NEVER" based on the true life story of
Justin Bieber.

To some he may be an "annoying" kid stealing the hearts of girls everywhere but once you get to know his story, you'll see that he is way more than just that! 

"His odds were a MILLION TO ONE!" as stated on the back cover of his new movie by Rick Florino,  ARTIST direct

It can be a great source of positivity!

This Friday's Latin Vibe song choice is titled "Fruta Fresca" (Fresh Fruit) By: Carlos Vives

It is a Cumbia melody.

I chose this song because I happen to know a couple that have been MARRIED in love for 61 years!

This song had been a favorite of  the Mr. at some time in his life. I recall hearing him play it over and over again. He would dance to it and his face would light up when he listened and sang along to this beautiful Cumbia melody. I barely paid mind to the words then, I just knew it was a great melody and it made him liven up! As I listen to the words now, I think wow!

 The words to this song are so passionate. Carlos Vives sings of his love and how her kisses are like fresh fruit, and he is so passionate about her, he wants the WHOLE world to know it! He wants her to know what her kiss does to him. 

(Now, this is a complete PG- rated post! So, get your minds out of the gutter if they happen to go there! lol..).

My point:

Wow, this couple, my grandparents, have been married for 61+years!
Through all of the ups and downs of their lives together as HUSBAND & WIFE, they have stuck it out, worked it out, and have been there for one another. They are a huge source of inspiration in my own personal life.

The Mr., my grandfather,  feels this passionate about their love! I am telling you, he played this cassette over and over again! lol... I am sure if I played it for him, he would still put on a huge smile!

They continue to inspire me!

Feeling comfort in a storm

As children comfort is sought during storms or times of uncertainty and sadness.

This comfort brought a sense of security, stability, protection, & happiness to name a few. This comfort was found in God, moms, dads, grandparents, teachers, uncles, aunts, etc...

As children grow they tend to let go of these comforts to explore and seek individuality.

Adults watch them grow,  & let go little by little. All knowing that they have been there as well.

Then these children one day become adults and all of sudden those comforts are either far away, to "childish" to seek or forgotten altogether.

In an adult life, some people pride themselves on "living the American dream" & forget that there are an "army" of people who have been there and done that. People who can guide you and comfort you.

I'd like to encourage you today to look at your life. 

Are you forgetting that it is o.k. to seek the "comforts" that once brought you a sense of security, stability, protection & happiness?

You do not have to do "it" a.k.a. LIFE all by yourself.

You can seek God...

You can seek a mentor...

You can trust that your parents, elderly family etc... still do have a clue of the world we are in ;)

As adults, let us not forget to humbly seek these "comforts."

Even Positive Hearts Get Weary.

And when they do, that's when reading sites like these can help cheer them up.

One must seek positivity.
In life it does not come natural.
On a daily basis one has to seek to have a positive mentality.

I have not yet discovered why it is easier to stay mundane and down but I have discovered that it is your OWN choice on how mundane or down your day or life will be.
Surely you will be challenged.
Almost as if someone knows you are trying to have a healthy mindset however, it is a task you must WORK at! You must constantly seek positivity.
People may question, "well, are you being realistic?"
Yes, it is a reality!
YOU CHOOSE who, what, when  and how things will affect you!
Even when you are challenged, YOU are responsible for how that challenge will affect you.
I am not talking about "things" beyond our control. I am simply speaking of day-to-day ordinary living.
This all goes with the POSITIVE challenge I proposed last week.
These are all things I am taking on as a challenge myself.
The first day of the POSITIVE word challenge seemed nearly impossible for me!
I was faced with all kinds of testy moments!
But I will say, I tried very hard and if I could have fulfilled the day entirely in positivity, it would have been mission completed! But,
my challenge remains and until I or a reader of this blog can come back and say, "they had a day where they  were able to use positivity all day, no matter which situations came their way!," I'll keep on challenging...

Words are spoken everyday...
You are either being spoken to, speaking to someone or in some cases speaking to yourself, lol...
Words have an impact to sweep you off your feet or cut like a sword.
Try one day where you ONLY use positive words (words that have a positive impact).
Let's say you are upset about something, try to handle it differently today. Try to resolve it positively with the proper words.
I will be the first to say that this will not be EASY.
It is a challenge!
I for one, am trying this for the first time today.

Often times, the negative things in life make the HEADLINES and are of more popularity!
People cling on to these headlines. The gossip magazines sell rapidly. If I say the word SEX, that would stand out and catch your attention! It would spark a new level of interest!
These topics & headlines prove to be an attention getter.
I am challenging that!
In my "small" way!
On this blog and until I sail off to something new, my mini goal is to attain your ATTENTION! I am sure that if I spoke of anything with the word SEX, I would have no problem attaining your attention. So, this is my challenge because unfortunately, I won't be talking sex!
My challenge is to see how many people want to talk about POSITIVE HEADLINES!
To show whoever is watching, that POSITIVITY can make the HEADLINES!
That INSPIRATION can be a popular topic!
Everyday, we are faced with all kinds of challenges.
We all live our own individual lives.
The world seems so BIG.
But, it really isn't.
Thanks to the Internet, it's just finger tips away.
There is so much room to grow!
But, it all starts with YOU!
The choices YOU make, from the moment you rise in the morning until the moment you lay your head to rest!
Mistakes, they will certainly happen frequently, maybe even daily!
There is positivity in your mistakes! Instead of beating yourself up about any of them, realize them, learn from them, move on from them; look at it as one less mistake you'll make again!
Once you start looking at yourself, you'll be able to take the challenge with me!

Flight Delayed

In an airport there is so much to see...
One waits eagerly to board their plane and has many things to absorb, hear, say or do.
Many arrive early. They have time to eat, shop, walk around, or just sit and relax until its time to board the plane.
On this particular day, a female chooses a seat near a large glass window. Patiently she awaits. She can hear, see and feel the excitement. The excitement of new memories yet to come. She sees people, all kinds of people. As she looks at her watch, she realizes her board time has passed. She gets up and looks for her flight details on the screen. She realizes her flight has been delayed. Instantly a wave of the words "flight delayed" occur. One is left imagining, what is going through the minds of everyone? Could it cause a speck of worry? or a look of distress?
She shows a positive trait in a half smile.  She takes in this opportunity to absorb all that surrounds her at this time. She stares at the view outside of the window. What does she see?
A sky with colors so magnificent. The sun has started to set and she manages to turn and catch it. Slowly it descents. She is comforted by the warmth it leaves on her skin. She is in awe of the warm glow that is slowly fading away. Her ears become distracted at just the right moment as she hears a soft humming sound coming from an elderly man who awaits the same delayed flight she does. She wonders could it be her guardian angel "playing music" to soothe her soul as she enjoys this sunset?
Around the sun there is the sky, a "sea" of endless clouds. In colors so bold and vivid. Color therapy it appears to be. Pink, white, purple, sky blue and gray and lilac. It reminds her of the colors in a tanzanite gemstone.
City lights begin to appear. New York City lights as the backdrop. Buildings with blinking lights that appear like the brightest of shinning stars. A tram that catches her gaze. She hears a child who asks for water and her thoughts come to a pause. She's back and now the sky is gray and blue with a tinge of pink. The plane arrives in its mighty white color. Cars and buses headed to their destinations. She is at ease because her pen touches paper. Voices all around, each one with a different tone. Tonight as they all wait, they all share the same thing in common. They are all boarding the same delayed flight. They may all share the same hopes too; to arrive safely at their destination. There were tornadoes in a few states today and she prays for those that were affected by them. Her delayed flight could be the outcome of these horrific storms today. She is grateful and feels blessed delayed flight and all. In deep thought, feeling so blessed she realizes, hmmm... that elderly man is still humming. In all of this "noise", his humming has "pacified" the time in waiting. She wonders if that elderly man will ever know that his humming had soothed her soul. It's night time now and she is exhausted. She begins to wonder how many of these people she has seen today are carrying burdens, heavy hearts, feeling blue inside? She says a prayer for them and wishes they  can cross paths with her somehow, someway so she can encourage them that they will be o.k. and they do not walk this path of life alone. Humorously, she wonders how many have forgotten something at home? "Oh well, its too late for worrying about that now!" She silently laughs. A child says, "I love you." and her thought pause again. The child continues, stating, "thank you for everything!, I think I may want to become a sturdiest."
This female slows down her wondering to give thanks for this day, to pray that God touches the hearts & souls of each person boarding the delayed flight with her. She is ready to board still looking forward to the next series of  moments where she can sit, let her mind wonder and take in all that life has to offer.

Mother

I am one.
God has blessed me with this beautiful gift of motherhood.
In all its moments, it is the biggest blessing in my Life.
 If anyone has ever wondered what gifts they may have been given from God above, you can be assured that if you are a MOM, MOTHERHOOD is certainly one of those DIVINE gifts.
Mothers are guided by a power so deep within. For many God is their driving force!
I'll admit that even as a mother, I have made mistakes and learned from them. I have called on GOD to help me many times.
Today I celebrate the gift of motherhood I have been blessed with!
I celebrate the times I know God guided my every thought and step as a mother.
Today, I celebrate my own mother.
For it was through her that I became who I am.
She was the first example I had of  a mother's role here on earth.
It is said that most children appreciate their mothers as they get older. This is very true. It is in being an adult where we get an honest look at the true sacrifices and efforts of our mothers.
My family almost lost our mother Feb of 2005 and God decided he would spare us that pain and give her the gift of life some more!
Today, I thank her.
I treasure her!
With every passing day, I am grateful to have her.
I am grateful for:
 the times in life where she stood her ground as solid as a rock!
The women she raised me to be.
The sisters she has given me and raised TOGETHER! Never accepting anyone of us going to bed angry!
Today, she still continues to keep UNITY as her number one priority.
I could go on but she knows the countless reasons why I am grateful for her and cherish her!
Mom, this ones for you!

Finding inspiration in the winning of two Usher's OMG Tour concert tickets!

A child constantly listens to 92.3 now FM radio for her chance to win! Her dream would be to win two tickets to any seat at a Justin Bieber concert. But, on a day in March 2011, she was determined. She called the radio station mentioned above and to her surprise, her call had been answered, she heard the words, "Usher, Usher Raymond" She replied with a confused hello, and they ask, "are you calling for Usher tickets?" and she replied, "YES!"
Chunky from this radio station could not make out her name as she answered so quickly, excited and baffled.
He says, "I don't know what your name is, but you've just WON Usher concert tickets!"
The result: A child who shared this joy with her best friend! Because they are minors, she runs to her mother and says, "mom, we, me & you are going to the Usher concert!" She says, my BF was my "LUCKY CHARM!"
Lucky for this child, her mother is a HUGE fan of Usher Raymond and without hesitation, takes all the information necessary on how to obtain these winning tickets! She admits, it felt like a bit of a dreamy moment! Usher has been an artist she has followed many years! Mom knows if these two girls were any older, she would have been taking the two of them to the concert as she would have standed no chance against the childs BF, lol...
They are looking forward to trying for more wins and hopefully they can be taken together to their first concert when the age is right.
It's nice to know she considers her BF her good luck charm on that day!
This child is then informed that Usher has been around for many years.
He is talented and iconic.
Today, I provide a link for all to read. Usher has been inspired himself by many things.
These winning tickets have provided an opportunity to look for some inspiration in Mr. Usher Raymond's journey throughout his career.
The determination of this child proves that although her mother would often say,"don't waste your time, those radio station contests are a scheme sometimes!" She followed her heart and tried anyway! She did not let her mothers words put a damper on her determination!
She WON!
Her call was ANSWERED!
She now says to her mother,"you see mom, you can actually win something from the radio contests!"
That is the inspiration found in the winning of two Usher Concert tickets!

An NYU student's quick gain inspires in an unusual way!

Today as I am on my way into work, I listened to the FM radio station, 92.3 now and I am motivated by one of the topics.
Pay close attention to the "motivation here."
Yesterday, according to this broadcast, there was a young male student from NYU who took an idea and made $120,00 in ONE DAY!
Now, we have all heard the news and there is no secret to the recent announcement almost a week ago on the death of Osama B.
The story as I have heard it states that this student went to his dorm upon hearing the news and created a template of Osama's face with banners across his eyes that read "dead." He then took this template and created t-shirts which sold for an alleged $12.00 each. Allegedly making a $120,00 profit in one day on the streets of NYC and during the day in which President Obama visited the Previous Twin Towers area. Wow!
That can buy him a few cars, a house, pay off his College tuition, serve as a donation to a fund in need etc...
My point, people bought these t-shirts!
Would I have bought one?
No.
 I'd prefer not to celebrate someones death in any way!
But, I give him credit for this! He is $120,00 richer.
The t-shirts were not gory that I am aware of however, they stated a FACT.
In a matter of a few days time his idea sold!

Again, I dare to DrEaM BIG!  I dare you to DrEaM BIG!
Imagine what can be done POSITIVELY IN EPIC proportions?
It's possible people!
But it won't happen if YOU don't TRY:)
The only thing I would hope is that this young man whoever he is, will do something positive with his gains and  continue to follow his dreams too.

Inspiration comes in all kinds of forms!
Whoever thought the selling of such a t-shirt would have any inspiration?!

Here is your Latin Vibe Friday By Sincerely Sherri

It's a NEW DAY:)
On Sincerely Sherri's Blog, it is "LATIN VIBE FRIDAY!"
In a new place I look for songs to present to you, a song that will inspire you. I need a certain song however, I am unable to find it with ENGLISH subtitles. I stumble across this AMAZING song by The Powerful singer Mr. Marc Anthony!
Today, I will post for you two songs by this Latin song artist.
One in English and one for my Spanish speaking audience.
 I invite you to listen to both.
The English song has lyrics to inspire anyone in need today who is holding on to something. Anyone who needs to hear that you can be "free".
The other song was recommended for today by a grammar school friend of mines!
Thanks to FB these grammar school friends are now in my life and can share this blogging journey with me.
Together, we can try to motivate the world into positivity and inspire one another in a world where there are minimal amounts of focus on the plus sides of life!
So, she knows who she is and for privacy reasons I will not disclose her name unless she chooses to do so but I will thank her for the recommendation:)

I dedicate today's Latin Vibe Friday to my mother! She and I have shared many conversations pertaining to Mr. Marc Anthony and his music. He is her favorite song artist! Her love for his music has inspired me to hear his songs closely and let them bring out my "Latina" side & love for Salsa music!

Both songs can have an impact on you. You can choose how they will touch your heart!
Song choice 1 is self explanatory- We can all be "free" from the things that bring us down. With each new day, no matter where you've been, what has transpired in your life that caused you pain, there is HOPE but you have to choose to take chances to set you free:) Try to stop living in ways where you are "trapping" yourself.
Song choice 2 can definitely leave those who understand it with hope that nothing in life is a waste of time. Mr. Marc Anthony is singing about a past relationship that failed however he feels it was necessary and worth it regardless of the outcome. You can apply it to all circumstances of life that feel like a "waste" of time or of no "worth."

Sometimes you just have to let that special someone know how much they mean to you.

Positivity can be found in every area of life! BUT...
In order to receive positivity in your life, you must open your mind to it;
One should also seek wholeheartedly to be a positive influence in the lives of others.
Today, I will say that there is a man who has had a positive influence in my life. He has been a shelter I have sought in good and bad moments.
 He has put countless smiles on my face and I encourage you to seek the same in yourself and the people YOU choose to surround YOURSELF with :)
